DDO Cocktail Hour, Episode 19, The British Invasion!

Warning: Dry British Humor contained within! Where news-based podcasts might take themselves too seriously, we pride ourselves on riveting our TENS of followers with drunken banter! We don’t fear the lowest common denominator… we wholly embrace it! And oh yes… we WILL tell what we are drinking because it’s called COCKTAIL HOUR!

Also, today’s show is not exclusively about DDO! I know it’s shocking, but people cannot eat, sleep, and breathe the exact same game for four years straight! Sure we talk DDO, but we wander waaaay off topic this episode and even use complete sentences at one point!  Once again, if you are looking for hard-hitting news, please refer our parent show: The DDO Cast (full of smart, crunchy goodness). Otherwise sit back, relax, grab your favorite cocktail whatever that might be, and enjoy as we explore the lighter side of Dungeons and Dragons Online, Eberron Unlimited!

This week:

Cue the Benny Hill Music, because Samius and Lessah welcome long-time podcasters Van Hemlock and Jon Shute from the Van Hemlock Podcast to the show! Our crew veer off-topic a bit to discuss the finer points of gaming and how to wade through so many game choices in such a heavily saturated market. Listen to find out WHY Samius Gurobo is really ALWAYS wearing pants! Thanks so much for listening!

Website Bonus Material!
I am going old school this week, waaaaaay back to 2007!  I did a little skit for the

  1. Jerry says:

The whole concept of a belief in a Texas-Wisconsin border just hits so many of my humor levels. Absurd, humorous and completely out of left-field, but perfect for Morah to say. Also, it avoids having to put the characters in a certain location.

Great show! Love the Van Hemlock podcast.

  2. JakLee says:

Great cast guys. I was actually surprised at how serious the cast was (in a fun way). The double guest thing worked really well for pacing and made for a much quicker paced show that was over before I knew it. Thanks for show

  3. Lessah says:

Thanks!  This was one of my favorite shows because I really enjoy the Van Hemlock Podcast, though I am sad I never got a chance to ask Jon Shute why he hates Salvatore.  This was a  real treat for me in the wake of all the serious stuff going on in our game in the way of Hoxfix’s/ Nerf’s, general anger over change, and summer “twitchieness”.  I hope we can lure them back someday with promises of tea and cakes!

  4. JakLee says:

Oh I did want to say you all forgot the greatest show to come out of Brittan – The IT Crowd!

  5. Zoso says:

Splendid show! Never knew Coupling was popular over there, brilliant show (and written by Stephen ‘Doctor Who’ Moffat). JakLee’s right about the IT Crowd too.

Best get Van Hemlock’s stomach pumped from that turps so he’s ready for the Demon Queen…

(PS: Jon’s right, it’s never LEGOs, ever ever ever.)
